Today I thought I would share with you my skincare and skin care products during monsoon.I have always felt that my skin would behave in a very different way specially during the rainy season.I have always felt that my skin would turn dry and sometimes itchy.Have you guys ever felt this issue?
My skin tends to peel every time monsoon sets in. Having dry skin can be a blessing during summers but a huge hassle during the monsoon. Fortunately, I have been advised by my dermatologist some easy everyday treatment options that are fairly simple and inexpensive to restore the moisture on my parched skin.
MOISTURIZE YOUR DRY SKIN DURING MONSOON
I was introduced to the concept of using oil based moisturizers during monsoon instead of water based. An oil based moisturizer will create a thick, protective layer that will lock the moisture for extended periods particularly when the humidity levels are low. Remember to opt for oils like avocado oil, almond oil, primrose oil, sesame oil when using one for the face. You can also use aloe vera gel on the face.
Best is to use moisturizers with Shea butter work deeper and moisturize for longer.
SUNSCREEN FOR FACE DURING MONSOON
Even if the weather is cool, the sun is still out there in monsoon, drying my skin. Also I came across another important fact that the UV rays are the harshest during this season. So if I am planning to head outdoors, I ensure using a sunscreen of SPF more than 30 Plus at least half an hour before I leave. I Re-apply when I am outdoors for longer periods.
AVOIDING HARSH IRRITANTS
As advised by my dermatologist I try to stay away from all items that tend to irritate the skin especially as my skin is sensitive. I also try to wash clothes in detergents which are especially suited to sensitive skin and are free from added perfumes or chemicals.
ARE LONG BATHS BAD FOR SKIN DURING MONSOON
How long are baths supposed to be? Talking long bath can strip the skin of natural oils did you know this?. Steer beyond medicament soaps, perfumed soap bars or any skin products that are primarily alcohol based. Instead, I opted for mild body wash from the face shop . I also try to wrap up my bath and shower in under 10 minutes and moisturize while the skin is still wet. It has helped me to maintain my skin moistures.
